Progress!

So we mailed out 2 copies of the donor contract on Friday. I'm sure everything will be fine and he will get them notarized and send them on back our way to do the same.

I also found out more information about the buffer to assist in shipping the sperm. It sounds fairly easy to take care of getting it to him and back to us. Seeing the product makes it feel like we're making headway.

Donor contract

So we finally printed out, reviewed and amended a donor contract someone emailed me. There were just a few minor changes. Next we'll need to go over it again and then send a couple copies out to our donor so he can notarize them and send them back, we do the same and send him one back. I haven't been in much contact with him or his wife lately, which always makes me worry a little, but I'm sure all is well.

As far as the weight loss goes, I've lost just over 6 pounds. Not as much as I'd like, but anything is better than nothing. I go back to my doctor in 4 days. Hopefully she will notice the progress I've made and not think I haven't followed her advice.

Losing weight

I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday. Was just a 2 month follow-up after I started taking the Metformin. We told her we were going to start trying to conceive in October. The doc wants me to lose 20 pounds before then. So....we're looking into going to Weight Watchers. There is a meeting tonight that we're going to attend to check it out. My lovely lady is going to come with me as support and also to drop a few pounds herself. Can't be a bad thing can it? Losing weight?
I also got some blood drawn to check how my liver is handling the medication and to check other stuff. Make sure nothing's changed for the worse since the blood test I had before I started the Metformin.

Metformin

So I started taking Metformin yesterday in hopes of regulating my cycle and making it easier to get pregnant in December. Rumor has it that the drug causes bad stomach issues as a side effect. It is normally given to diabetics so I will be have to be more aware of my body as the drug begans to infiltrate my system to make sure I'm feeling ok. The doctor ran a liver test prior to me starting and will test again in a couple months to compare. So, hopefully it will help and I won't get icky side effects or anything. I'm taking the extended/slow release version, so hopefully that makes a difference.

Started tracking cycle(s)

So today I started tracking my temperature since I started my period yesterday. Will also be tracking cervical fluid to get to know my body better and pinpoint when I ovulate so when the time comes, it will hopefully be easier to get pregnant. Actually, we're both going to start tracking ourselves. I think I usually know when I'm ovulating, but it will be nice to know for sure and see if my instinct is correct.

Joining the baby blog!

I am so looking forward to having a child with my beautiful partner. We are hoping to get me pregnant later this year I believe. I do need to go see a doctor, or 2, and figure out what alternatives I can do for my allergy & asthma issues. I want to be on no, or as few as possible, medications while pregnant and nursing. It's a bit of a concern for me but we will figure it out. There are some logistics that need to be worked out as far as working out getting a sperm donation from a friend as well. Right now though, I want to focus my energy on creating a beautiful, loving wedding ceremony for us. Our date is fast approaching! Once that is behind us, that loving energy can be divested in planning the first child of our family.
